Yaz im starting to sense reverse discrimination in South Africa. A few weeks ago the minister of Human Settlements stated that the government shall emabark on legal relief for women in the event of divorce in the form of men being the ones who are to be kicked out of their houses, that anouncement raised alarm bells in my head as men are already getting it bad through being charged with statutory rape when they date younger women, and custody battles over kids are most commonly won by women, then comes Affirmative Action and the Gender Equity Act, then the social philosophy of Feminism. What my question is...what were law makers thinking when they made all of these things? Did they ever think that by introducing these acts the traditional, natural, legal and religious rights of men are being enfringed upon? What about the fact that men who are highly deserving of certain roles of leadership will have their opportunity taken away from them all in the name of Affirmative Action? What about the fact that innocent men who were decieved by their lying partners will be charged and jailed all in the name gender equity? What about the fact that government will unjustly displace caring and genuine men who had the misfortune of dating a dishonest, coniving and neglegent woman ? What about the other thousands of men whove lost careers and lives for defending themselves against insane women who happen to be physically abusive towards men? What about the fact that men were made by God and molded by nature to be the leaders of the house and take charge where were needed? Dont get me wrong im not saying women dont deserve to be protected and intergrated as equally productive members of society and the mainstream economy but what im seeing here is not equalising roles of society im seeing reverse discrimination and a future where the role of men will diminish to nothing just as women are begining to objectivise men as it is
