Yeah, it’s humbling when a bartender remembers your favorite drink but it takes a good mixologist to really develop your pallet beyond Bacardi rum and coke with a lime. Josh Russell does a great job of this. Most recently Steven Borkowski and I stopped into Longstreets to check out a specific featured beverage josh concocted, Hot Cider. Steve is a huge fan of mixology and has been raving about Josh’s knowledge of spirits and talent of making a “damn, good drink” for a long time. I am a creature of habit and rarely try new drinks but the warmth of the Hot Cider, the Kraken spiced rum and a couple dashes of fresh cinnamon really painted a picture in my mind of a sitting in a cozy ski-lodge bundled up in front of a fire. It was beautiful. I’m excited to head down the stairs again to try another delicious beverage. Luckily, every week Longstreet’s is having featured cocktails formulated by Josh, I highly recommend stopping in before you wait in a line down the street, have a good conversation complemented by well “mixed drink”.
