Year 3+: I am excited to visit Tyrel tomorrow morning. I will only get to visit for a short time before I go to work. Im still thankful for the opportunity to see him. As I visited with my brother today, I realized something important. Tyrel and I spent every day together before he went to the hospital. Because of the journey we are on, life required so much (if not all) of our time to be devoted to care taking. For the first time in sooooooo long, we will get to just enjoy each others company. If no other blessings come from this, quality time is a HUGE blessing. There are many other blessings but not many compare to the opportunity to just enjoy the company. For the last 3 years, Tyrel has felt the pressure of being a burden. Ive desperately tried to prevent him from feeling that way but the fact of the matter is that he DOES feel that way. Under the current circumstances, we are sacrificing many things but we are gaining so much. He wont feel like a burden and I am a bit more rested than I have been. That is a recipe for GREATNESS. The deeply thoughtful gift card to DQ (in one of his cards) will surely make him smile that infectious smile...and give us a reason to have an ice cream date. Thank you!!!! Im learning slowly to take some time for me. It will take some work but Im getting there. I still find myself planning tomorrows schedule based on what Tyrels needs are...in time that will lessen. He is always my priority. He is worthy of being part of my daily thoughts! More importantly, he is worthy of making himself a priority in his own life. This is my hope for him as he embarks on this new chapter. #JustKnow
