Year 3+: My flood gates have opened today. Although it is difficult to feel all of these feelings, I much prefer feeling over numbness. I didnt hear from Tyrel today. I know he is safe and I also know he will call when he is ready or feels the need. This is time for him to explore his options and feel his own feelings. I cannot rush him and as difficult as it is, he deserves the opportunity to find what HE needs. I know Tyrel wont be coming home in the near future. There are many factors being considered but the only one that bears any weight is what is best for Tyrel at this moment in time. He needs assistance that only a professional can provide...and thats exactly what we intend to get him. For the rest of us, reality has hit again. I cannot put into words how difficult these decisions are, how devastation strikes each of our hearts all over again. But I can say that we are all at peace knowing that Tyrel is safe and healing. There are daily struggles, hourly struggles. One thought that keeps weighing on my heart is he fact that Tyrel deserves better than the hand hes been dealt. I wouldnt wish this on anyone and I certainly didnt want this for my husband. But the reality of our lives is that weve been given this situation and we will make the best of it. For Tyrel, he deserves the opportunity to discover his new strengths without depending on his past strengths and accomplishments. He will do this, he just needs the proper environment to do so. Weve all had to shift gears, let go of fears, and listen to the guidance God is giving. These days are long and painful. There will be many more to come. But they are also peaceful knowing that we are all refueling our tanks to be better for Tyrel. Thank you all for your relentless prayers and your constant support. As we begin another chapter in this journey, we pray for clarity of mind and body, for rejuvenation, for strength, and for Tyrels trust that his life is WORTH IT!
