Years ago (1976!) 6 of us HG Pilots from NW London would meet here 277-281 Westbourne Grove London W11 2QA ..........we called ourselves The Lonsdale Hang Gliding Club........a great Thursday night venue at the top of Portobello Road.....not just for HG pilots , but Punks, Greasers, Skinheads, Goths, Hells Angels, OAPs, Afro Caribeans and Sloane Rangers.....the beer was so so and the pub has since been revamped.....the juke box has gone....the food is ok ish......but nice beer garden......members were me, Dave Forty (Watford),Laurence Bourne (Steyning) , Tom Haskett (Lausanne),Roger Wilbourne (Gloucester) and Mark Leslie (Dublin)........
