Years ago this agent booked me on a solo piano gig for a Company Christmas party.. I get there and get into the room and there was this huge stage.. I ask if a dance band was coming and where did they want me to set up and they said no- up on the stage- My contract said background Christmas music.. So Im playing cocktail music during dinner and then after dinner they come up and tell me theyre ready to rock n roll and dance.. I pull out my contract and show them Im supposed to be playing cocktail piano background music.. She pulled out her contract which was 4 times what I was paid.. And it said dancing.. I played some boogie-woogie and pop tunes but by the time they got drunk everybody started coming up and yelling at me wanting rap music etc. I never took a gig from that agent again!
