Years ago today, from the land of papaya, dinuguan and Manny Pacquiao, came a force of unprecedented energy and joy that permeated lands far and wide. A child was born. A girl with skin of bronze and ebony eyes. Her silky, jet black locks flowed like a calm, thick molasses river. "Aphrodite…Cleopatra? No! Pamela! Yes! This is what she shall be called!" exclaimed her mother Belen Magers As a child she would endure calamities abound such as the now infamous nipple sizzling boiling water bath and a nail through the forehead in which she still bears a scar. Now a battle hardened survivor she was unwillingly and unexpectantly jettisoned to a strange, far away land. A land of Teddy Ruxpin, baloney, Punky Brewster and Ronald Reagan. Fortunately for her she lived in 1 of the 2 communities in her immediate geographical area with an overwhelming, highly unusual concentration of her countryfolk. In this city, this….Union…city she would garner much acclaim. Shape many minds. She would…dance! "dance Pamela!" they would say from the bleachers, "Dance again!". And dance she would indeed. She became a leader of people many times over and a friend to many. In the big city, in an establishment of entertainment and libations, her destiny would collide with that of a tremendous, mighty figure that would eventually result in a matrimony of the highest holiness. Ask Elvis. She would bear his fruit not once, not twice, not thrice but…..quice??? She would eventually use her might, her intellect, her will to coin terms like: "proactive" and "work/life balance". She amassed a shoe collection of biblical proportions that would make her former country woman Immelda Marcos blush. So today we celebrate, rejoice and spread word across these lands, the mother, the wife, the professional, the dancer: PAMELA ROSE NJISSANG. HAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPYYYYYY BIRRRRRTHDAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!
