Yes, I am up late again as I try to stay ahead in my studies this - TopicsExpress

Yes, I am up late again as I try to stay ahead in my studies this semester, but before I go to bed, I thought I would comment on some of the information being shared with me regarding the return of the Polar Vortex. There are many media outlets warning that the Polar Vortex is coming back, beginning next week, and they tell us it will be worse than the first one and will have the impact of a major hurricane strike. So I thought I would make a comment for us here in north Texas. There is no evidence that this will come to Texas next week. We should stay above normal all next week with the exception of Friday as clouds thicken, and we have that chance of light showers. Again, as I mentioned earlier, these showers will be spotty, light, and will have zero impact on lake levels and drought status, so nothing to get excited about. So dont panic, there is no evidence that ice or snow will come to north Texas for at least the next 10 days. This polar vortex will not be nearly as big as the first one. The first one which hit earlier this month sent arctic air deep into the Gulf of Mexico. The one that comes in next week stays well to northeast (Tennessee and points NE of there). However, Ill run the SM on this later today (Saturday) to see if there is any arctic air that may try to come in after this first surge. Until then enjoy the 60s this weekend!
