Yes, Im THAT guy. The one with the camera in your face. While filming today at Spence Middle School today DISD Chief of Police Craig Miller pulled up. His first statement to me was Getting enough attention sir? Battery went dead so I didnt get to record all the conversation. Not recorded was when he told me that because I had them out there they didnt have enough officers to cover other issues. He proceeded to show me pics on his phone of kids fighting with a comment from a parent wanting to know what he was going to do about it but said he couldnt do anything about it because he had his officers out there to satisfy me. He showed me pictures of a bunch of guns taken from students and said he I was taking time away from that. He said last year Spence Middle School had students all year long threatening to commit suicide but of course, I was taking up their time. I said DISD should hire more officers, but he said no, DISD provided them with all the officers they need. I said apparently not if I was taking up his officers time. He suggested that Carroll Ave. be converted to a one way street during school hours of kids being dropped off and picked up. I agreed. He said he would see about it. I pointed out about the Sams Club that is proposed behind the school and what that will do to the traffic. At least I have their attention for now. I will stay on top of it. Just because they dont see me on the corner doesnt mean Im not recording. I have a 1300mm telephoto zoom lens for my Nikon camera with record abilities. I can easily film from home. Or, I could use the 10X zoom security camera on the porch too. It has pan and tilt and a clear shot. But I like to make my presence known and I cant pick up sound from that far away. They do a better job when they see me. I wish would have gotten to record the whole conversation.
