Yes Marcy, It is me Harvito & His Latin Rhythms in this video @ the 4:09 minute mark.This pic.was early 1956, I was 19 years old @ the time. In the summer of 1956 We played Brickmans Hotel (South Fallsburg) in the Catskill Mountains. The owner didnt think HARVITO sounded latin enough so he changed it to ARVITO in all the newspaper ads, this on his own, without ever asking me if it was ok. When I questioned him about the typo he told me if I wanted the gig at his hotel for the summer, I could only get it if I dropped the H and accepted ARVITO as my professional name. I wanted to play Brickmans Hotel very much because it was mainly a young singles crowd with lots of pretty girls. So I reluctantly accepted the name change. BTW I first met your father there as he was my assigned room mate for the entire summer. Our room was directly below the coffee shop in the Casino building. By summers end I realized that Mr. Posner was right about the name and I stayed with Arvito until 1967 when I recorded my first Album Viva Soul for Atlantic Records. I then once again went back to my family name Harvey Averne for the rest of my Career. Thanx for the post Marcy
