Yes, a meager 400y at the See Jane Run Womens Triathlon in Pleasanton, and it was a very odd and stressful experience. The drought in CA had turned the lake into a slimy puddle of mud, and because of a late start I got to the start line only when the horn sounded. Was literally the last person to get in the water, sinking each leg foot-deep in the mud. Passed hordes of flailing people in the slime to finish third in my wave, but all the energy and stress exerted in that leg made the bike and run legs so much harder. If Im going to continue doing triathlons, I need to get a much better bike than my $50 hybrid from Craigslist. Very happy at the prospect of swimming at the YMCAs pristine pool waters tomorrow morning.
