Yes, just, yes!!!! I cannot agree with this blog more! I think he hits it on the head when he states many of us have been programmed to desire pity more than anything — even above respect or love. Pity is something you receive without having to offer anything in return...not so with love or respect. Longish read (especially if you read the linked articles), but worth it!
