Yes, the electricity went out at school today and the kids were a bit... excited. But, a HUGE thank you to Chris Fagan and Marty Fagan of 3BelowZero. They are the amazing couple from North Bend that is making the huge trek to the SOUTH POLE. They leave on Nov. 17 and should return mid January. They took the time to come to our school and talk to all of our third graders about their upcoming trip. The electricity was out but they made due and the kids were mesmerized! They showed the kids the gear, the food, (I got a taste of what they will be eating for 40 days) and pictures of how they have been training. The lights came back on and they continued on like nothing had happened and the kids hung on every word. Our class is going to follow them on their website as they travel.
