Yes, the longer title seems to dehumanize the condition--but in actual fact shell Shock got shockingly poor treatment--look at the Shot at Dawn project which tries to get posthumous recognition for men executed by the British army for desertion and failure to obey orders, often without even an interview with a doctor. It doesnt matter what the terminology is so long as commanders do not want to face the fact that they are breaking their soldiers.
