Yes, the smoke and smell was coming from my room. Sometimes art is messy and this case, smelly. When a clay body is too heavy to support itself, we have to use rolled up and taped newspaper/magazines on the inside to support it. Today, we had a 10lb ceramic turtle (a lot lighter now) stuffed with paper and tape to keep it rigid during the building process. Well, the exhaust fan couldnt keep up with the amount of smoke billowing out of the kiln. Thus, a lovely odor and a low rolling smoke exited my room and filled almost the entire build. Lesson learned. We will use less paper next time :)
