Yesterday April 14th, we were once again reminded of the savageness of Man as innocent men and women were murdered in cold blood on their way to work in Abuja. Whatever the reason(s) for such cowardly act. It is a wake up call to all Nigerians that none of us is safe. It is a reminder of the fragility or our unity and a threat to our young democracy. At the crux of the matter are so many unanswered questions and failures of our leaders; past and present. The nurturing we provide today to our future leaders does not also prepare them to fare better than we the leaders of today, and as such we are in the throngs of a vicious cycle of ignorance, poverty and violence for some time to come if we remain passive. Nigeria needs to STOP ! rethink its steps and if need be veer off its current track and make a turn onto the path of real justice, equity, selfless leadership, quality education, equal protection under the law, good governance, shared empowerment, policies and Laws that encourage religious and political tolerance. Connection, Religion and Ethnicity cannot remain the yardstick for determining inclusion and participation in the economic and political affairs of this country. Enough is Enough.
