Yesterday CS Anne Waiguru went to Kibra to launch a clean up of the slum by the new look NYS. Local MCAs refused to support the campaign because someone had not been consulted. I think Waiguru needs to know several things first. One, Kibera is a tourists attraction. Unless you want to kill the tourism industry, dont think about cleaning the largest slum in Africa with 2 million residents. Infact it should be marketed in Germany. Where on earth do you hear of flying toilets? If Waiguru had cared to look up, she would have noticed that we are putting up a bypass right through the slum. Tourists arriving from Germany will be able to view this 10th wonder of the world without alighting. Kibra is on the Southern circuit alongside Longonot and Maasai Mara. We will put up a viewing tower at the bypass so that tourists can take photos from Sarangombe to Gatuîkîra. Madam Waiguru, Kibra is where we shoot scenes of poverty in local and foreign movies. Its a cash cow for NGOs. That filth you saw there is political capital for those MCAs and their king. So yes if you dont want a shoe right on your face leave Kibra alone.
