Yesterday, I attended the rehearsal of the New Century Chamber Orchestra (mostly women musicians and conducted by Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg) and heard works dedicated to the memories of JFK, Frank Lloyd Wright and Tchaichovsky. Then on KDFC, they played Aaron Copelands Lincoln Portrait to honor the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg address. So much humanity, so much to celebrate, so much great art and great artists!
