Yesterday I had a couple of games of 40k but did it differently. The first one was unbound so I went for an Avengers inspired list as in Heros of the Imperium. I did it for the narrative side thinking that it would be over by turn 2 as there were only 18 model in my 2000 point army, but it was really close in the end. The second one was a stripped down 1000 pointer, on a 36 x 36 table. This has to be the most fun Ive had playing 40k as it was so much more fast moving than a normal one. We made the table really busy with LOS blocking cover and still had the 6 objective markers but changed the placing rules slightly (3 from the edge and only 6 minimum distance between). Wondering what others have tried to vary the standard 6 x 4 table size and game styles?
