Yesterday I had to call Tom Rogers, widower of Pam Wells, to tell - TopicsExpress

Yesterday I had to call Tom Rogers, widower of Pam Wells, to tell him that the Senate Finance Committee voted to recommend HB 1135 be killed. Tom had taken the time to testify before the House Criminal Justice Committee a couple of months ago to share the story of the tragedy of his wife being killed by an unlicensed driver just 12 hours after the driver had been stopped for speeding and driving without a license. Unlicensed drivers are a threat to public safety, and we need policies in place that reflect that. After 8 months working with a bi-partisan group of lawmakers on legislation to make our streets and highways safer, after 3 public hearing and votes in both the House and Senate approving HB 1135, to run into this new roadblock is incredibly discouraging.
