Yesterday I mentioned attending a lecture on Carnegie vs. Frick. You can see Fricks grave in this video, thanks to Andrea Zober for thinking of me. The Allegheny Cemetery brought back great memories of when my students and I were involved in a TIME unit. We had all kinds of wonderful studies involving math, language arts, history. One section was on TIMES UP, and I took them to the Allegheny and Sewickley Cemeteries. Beforehand, they made wreaths for Stephen Foster, General Alexander Hays and hmmm, one more, whose name escapes me now. At the Sewickley Cemetery, they teamed up to do investigative detective work, using all their skills. . .. Great time for all of us. We ate on the bus from the Allegheny to the Sewickley cemeteries....
