Yesterday I received an email containing the following message: Introduction to the new CQC Inspection standards The CQC have been preparing for the introduction of the new standards due to become active from the 1st October 2014. This new approach to compliance monitoring and the new Provider Information Request will place a burden upon providers for enhanced monitoring of their service prior to CQC onsite inspections. In a number of regions ,volunteer organisations have been subjected to the proposed new Thematic Standards of Care. This has highlighted the need for organisations to prepare adequately for CQC inspections. The live reporting system proposed by the CQC will mean that Providers will have to provide real time data on the quality of the service they provide. This one day programme will provide you with information on the new standards and how the inspection methodology used by CQC will be applied “How to Inspect your Service like a CQC Inspector” This is weird. Why should any care provider which knows their job well and is doing it hire that company to tell him HOW TO PASS the CQC INSPECTION? Passing CQC INSPECTION should not be the major concern of Care Providers- Their major concern should be the provision of quality and value for money care to the vulnerable/.
