Yesterday I remembered a quote that has been attributed to John Wesley regarding preaching, but didnt quite know how it went, so I googled it and found it. Catch on fire, and people will come to watch you burn. So I prayed yesterday, for the Lord to set me on fire at the pulpit. At the very end of the sermon. The fire alarm went off and fire trucks were called to the scene. Everyone had to evacuate the hotel. The fire alarm had been pulled by a baby on the second floor where the sermon was coming from! After having just preached about God wanting to set us on fire, what a fitting end to an amazing night. Praise God there was no literal fire, but wow!
