Yesterday I said what I loved about The Hobbit; today you get everything I didnt like about the trilogy because I just cant help myself: 1. Legolas and everything about his plot line 2. Tauriel. Even though the girl power stuff was subtle I still felt pandered to. Evangeline Lilly was gorgeous as an elf though 3. Azog and Bolg and especially their cg appearance - I miss the masterful make-up of LOTR 4. The Three Stoogification of the trolls (first movie but Im still sore) 5. Thorins trippy inner struggle In the golden hall. Of course everyone wants more shots of his beautiful face but the whole hes having a struggle against greed thing was so damn over done. I liked the image of the dragon swimming in the gold though 6. Cumberbatchs voice was unrecognizable 7. Fight scenes are so bumpy and blurry you cant see anything and get dizzy 8. Gimmicky fight scenes. Ex. Legolas running on bricks as they begin to fall over the precipice 9. The guy from Laketown with gross teeth. Added nothing 10. Martin Freeman was underused and he is perfect for a more Tolkien-esque interpretation. Still loved it.
