Yesterday I visited small businesses in Montrose to hear from local business owners on their thoughts on the economic climate and how we can work together to improve it. Eliminating unnecessary, and oftentimes crippling regulations that keep small businesses from starting or expanding must be the government’s top priority. There’s an important role for regulation in our economy, but much of what we’re seeing coming out of Washington now does not serve to make the marketplace fairer or safer, but serves to grow the bureaucracy. Get Washington out of the way, and small businesses will be able to do what they do best—create jobs and opportunities for hardworking Americans.
