Yesterday I was lucky enough to witness the birth of my newest granddaughter Christina Nicole. There are many things I loved about yesterday, sitting with my daughters and son-in-law- laughing, making guesses about Christina arrival, singing, Katherine deciding that Tech Nine was not appropriate laboring music for her newest niece, my usually quiet daughter- in-law bursting with conversation and entertainment for us, watching my daughter rest and just getting to be there to hold her hand, wondering for a moment if she was going to laugh her daughter out into the world rather than pushing her into this world- moments that will forever be engraved in my mind- but there are two things that I am most grateful for besides Christina- first being Justin ( Black Smith )- you hope your kids find someone who love them they way you think they deserve and happy to say my daughter got this- thank you for sharing your moments with us Justin- for making sure Alisha was okay, protecting her wishes, telling her how beautiful and pretty she is thoughout the entire processyesterday, kissing her forehead, encouraging her, staying by her side to ensure she was safe and ok before checking on your daughter. Your parents have raised a wonderful young man. Next, is my incredible, beautiful, sweet daughter who we now give the new nickname the beast too. Alisha Nicole Smith, sweetie you were amazing- you showed great control and strength and listened to every thing everyone told you too to bring your sweet baby girl into this world. I know you missed out on the holding her and seeing her after her birth- but I promise you, you will now have a life time of holding her in your arms- way to go!!!!
