Yesterday I was ripping up and re-laying the front patio I put in several years ago. As with most projects I do, I think about about a particular person or problem to while away the hours. At the moment I recalled what that issue had been when I first put in this patio - Am I just prettying up a marriage that isnt working!? - I heard, from the backyard, the unfettered laughter bursting and rolling out of my kids, our two sweet and loving exchange students, and their friends while they played touch football against blaring full-on-happy pop songs. Im laying the bricks of a rich and wide-reaching life, not just for me as the dumpy mid-life divorcée, but for the panoply of sweet souls who are invited to walk upon it with me. Pretty sure thats what its all about.... :)
