Yesterday I watched Elysium since I missed it in the theaters. After watching I have to say Im glad I didnt see it in the theater. It was so god awful that I would say I lost 2 hours of my time but it was great either. I think Jodie Foster playing the bad guy didnt feel right. Matt Damion was good as usual but I think the problem was in the script. The writer/director script was really just too preachy to me about the difference of the rich and poor. Also the ending was just weird and didnt feel right. I would have to give it a 1 1/2 starts out of 5. Also saw Looper and Tinker, Tailor, Solder, Spy.(man I love this DVR). Two other movies I missed on the big screen. Looper was fun to watch. There was a Terminator-ish thing going on but over all it was a fun movie to watch. A little slow at times but I would say it was better than Elysium for sure. But still a movie I can say Im not upset I missed it in the theaters. But Tinker, tailor, Soldier, Spy was really enjoyable. Now it has been a long time since I read the book(seeing the movie makes me want to re-read it someday) and I love the original mini series Alec Guinness but I think Gary Oldman as the perfect casting for George Smiley. They kept the movie in the 70s which otherwise would have never worked. Tinker is not your typical spy movie. There isnt a whole of people shooting one and other or big action sequences but just a great cast with a great script and filmed wonderfully. This is definitely the best of the three I saw yesterday. The next movie I will watch later is the Master. One of Phillip Seymour Hoffmans last movies.
