Yesterday I wore my Chacos to places I dont think they were intended to go. During a monotonous hour of the hike out (hour 13 of our 14), I wrote an ode to my Chacos. I claim neither to be a poet, or creative. But enjoy. Dearest Chacos Climbing up Dragontail Peak I used you to kick steps in snow My bare feet were cold But still you protected me from the fall below I bought you last year To keep my feet from getting smelly And to make my toesies As happy as jelly Then I used you to run trails Up and down the enchanting Enchantments Soon after you protected my feet Soaking in an ice cold lake in my undergarments I remember the time on Aconcagua When you took me all the way up the inclines Or when all I picked up all the girls Who were impressed at my Chaco tan lines Oh Chacos, the places youve taken me The beer cans weve squished The smells weve stepped in And the ground weve pushed
