Yesterday, I worked with a woman who continues to use her scooter - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, I worked with a woman who continues to use her scooter as her transportation in NYC. She is 65. She has had a couple knee surgeries. Her body is in the position of her scooting posture. The right hip and leg are rotated forward. Her spine has developed major twists and curves from her scooting position and she is a body worker for over 25 years. Her profession adds major impact to the ribcage, shoulders, neck, lower back and arms, hands, wrists Though I have talked to her about her need to undo her work patterns and keep her body as free as possible from her impact from all she does, she just never thought Yamuna Body Rolling was enough or necessary. Because she does yoga for over 30 years she thought she did not need the ball work. During our session, she asked, "Can you believe I lost 3 inches of height so far." I answered, "Of course I can." I also said that if she continues using her scooter and working without doing focused work on how to reduce these patterns, better not to come see me anymore. She said she is finally beginning to do the ball work. Now she has to really learn how to do the detailed work of Yamuna. As I always say, "You created your present body issues. This means you also have the power to change them."
