Yesterday Momma fell and broke her hip and she called 911 for herself and when they got there they told her if it were broke then she would be screaming and on the way to the hospital they called in and told the hospital that it was a non emergency. But once she got to the hospital the er dr called and Dr Olsin and she had to have emergency surgery because she had in fact broken/crushed her hip joint. Im only saying this because that broke my heart for mom. That amount of time that the EMT wasted would have been valuable to me because I would have been able to make arrangements and be there with my Mom. I can remember when I was in labor with Colin and I had to take a ride in the ambulance there in M-town and they didnt go very quick because it was said if I were in labor I would be yelling in Pain. Please do not make assumptions based on ones reaction to pain! I believe the EMTs shouldnt tell someone they are wrong and it is not an emergency they should treat that patient with respect and get them to the hospital.
