Yesterday, November 17, 2014, the National Elections Commission of Liberia officially launched its Civic and Voters Education campaign for the special senatorial Elections at the James M. Fromayan conference hall in Monrovia. This launch was intended to announce the commencement of activities for the ensuring senatorial election and assure Liberians that election is slated for December 16, 2014. NAYMOTE as a leading national civil society organization along with many other CSO and international organizations participated in the launching ceremony. In order to increase citizens’ participation in the election and limit the occurrence of election violence, NAYMOTE has trained 375 civic educators from across the 15 counties. These civic educators will use different strategies to educate and encourage citizens to get involved in the election activities, whilst emphasizing the importance of non-violence.
