Yesterday after getting back from Mexico, I was desperate to see how training in altitude for three weeks would affect my fitness. I was also desperate not to let the jet lag get me and sleep during the day! So I gave my 10laps of One Tree Hill test another go. All I can say is altitude training sucks at the time but is awesome for your fitness! Ive done no hill sprints for 3 months plus I was buggered from the flight and I managed to knock another minute off my PB. Gold standard for my athletes is sub 20min for 10 laps. Ill give it a crack next week, I think my old legs might just do it! If your not in Auckland, find your own challenging hill, set of stairs or even just a sprint track. Try and add it to your weekly routine once a week. 30mins of varying pace. The benefits are enormous👍
