Yesterday afternoon I went to Cineworld Queens Links to see the new action thriller film Machete Kills starring Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas, Sofia Vergara, singer Lady Gaga, Amber Heard, Cuba Gooding Jr, Charlie Sheen and Demian Bichir. In Machete Kills Danny Trejos fearsome Machete returns to take on Mel Gibsons evil arms dealer in this explosive sequel! None other than the President of the United States President Rathcock (Carlos Estevez aka Charlie Sheen - Hot Shots films, Young Guns) recruits former Mexican Federale agent Machete Cortez (Danny Trejo - Con Air, US TV Series Sons Of Anarchy) for a special mission. Arms dealing revolutionary Luther Voz (Mel Gibson - Mad Max films, Lethal Weapon films) has a missile trained on Washington D.C. the capital of the USA. The unstoppable one-man killing machines task is to hack his way south through Mexico and take down this madman. But Voz has his own army of super soldiers, including Madame Desdemona (Sofia Vergara - Four Brothers, US TV Series Modern Family) - whose deadly weapon has to be seen to be believed! Michelle Rodriguez (The Fast And The Furious, Blue Crush) as She Luz and Jessica Alba (Fantastic Four films, Sin City) as Sartana return for Robert Rodriguezs blistering sequel to his cult tongue-in-cheek homage to seventies exploitation movies. Robert Rodriguez has directed films like From Dusk Till Dawn, Desperado, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, Sin City and the first Machete film from 2010. Singer Lady Gaga as La Chameleon and Antonio Banderas (Desperado, Once Upon A Time In Mexico) as El Chameleon 4 are among the newcomers to the cast, along with a deliriously deranged Mel Gibson as the bad guy, Cuba Gooding Jr (Men Of Honor, Jerry Maguire) as El Chamaleon 2, Walton Goggins (Django Unchained, Lincoln) as El Chamaleon 1, Amber Heard (Zombieland, Drive Angry) as Miss San Antonio, Demian Bichir (Savages, A Better Life) as Mendez, Marko Zaror (Kiltro, Mandrill) as Zaror, Tom Savini (From Dusk Till Dawn, Django Unchained) as Osiris Amanapur, Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical films, Spring Breakers) as Cereza, Alexa Vega (Spy Kids films, Nine Months) as KillJoy and William Sadler (Die Hard 2: Die Harder, Iron Man 3) as Sherriff Doakes. Charlie Sheen appears under his real name, Carlos Estevez, as the straight-talking US president! Filming locations in Machete Kills include places like the border between Mexico and the US State of Arizona, the US/Mexico border, San Antionio, Texas, Acapulco, Mexico and other parts of Mexico and USA. Overall Machete Kills is a really good action packed film filled with action, fighting, shooting, explosions, gory bloody violence like the violence seen in The Expendables films, friendship, loyalty, betrayal, chasing on foot and in vehicles, science, technology, cloning like from the film The 6th Day, the military, paratroopers, helicopters, US border patrol officers, the police, the FBI and many other things. So I will give Machete Kills an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars and I will say Machete Kills is so well worth watching if you like action films along the lines of Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, The Expendables films, Once Upon A Time In Mexico and Django Unchained. If you get the chance to see Machete Kills in the cinema then you should go to the cinema and see it sooner than later while its in the cinema. :)
