Yesterday four little kittens are their mother were turned in. Every cat handles stress differently, in Rabos case she began to lash out at her kits. Under extreme stress cats and other animals will eat their own young. I was frightened that this would happen so I removed Rabo from her kits (they were about 6 weeks old and okay to be away from mom for a bit) to give her a 24 hour cool down and adjust to this new scary place called the shelter. In that time, Rabos kittens were whisked away under the pretense that Rabo was an awful mother had rejected them. Her kits are with the Humane Society for Campbell County now. And Rabo is in a small cage at the shelter wondering what on earth has happened. Rabo is a shorthaired Polydactyl blue calico who will be having her nails trimmed as soon as I get back to the shelter. The end of her tail is twisted and knotted, most likely due to a previous injury. she is about 2 years old. Do you have room in your heart and home for pretty Rabo?
