Yesterday marked 13 years since the attacks of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93. Its a flashbulb memory for all who remember that tragic day. Especially for me. I remember hearing the news from my alarm clock on the Morning Rush thinking that was a sequel to Independence Day. Seeing it live as the second plane hit the tower made it just as surreal to me. It was doubly as shocking as watching the Challenger exploding in the sky when I was in Mrs. McFaddens science class when I was in the fourth grade. It still gives me chills. I saw this video on my friends Beths FB wall and thought of sharing it. Not to reopen old wounds but to pay tribute to the lives that were lost, to thank those who were responders to Ground Zero, and to teach those too young (or werent born yet) about this piece of history. Despite my views on how and why it happen, it did happen and to those to dont learn from history are doomed to repeat it. My heart still weeps for those lost lives, the broken families, a city whose people are tough as nails but hearty. Ill never forget. Ever. But I wont hide the fact that it happened. Too many angels were made that day unnecessarily.
