Yesterday morning i had to find out my stepdad died. I knew he was sick but honestly he overcame a lot of scares in the past so you never knew how bad it really was. Ed was in my life for 17 years and my heart is broken even knowing he has moved on to a place without pain. He taught me so many things from fishing to web design. He loved bowling and playing guitar and at one point was even in the church band when i was a kid, he enjoyed chinese food and little debbie snacks and i remember him assuring a doctor once he was eating protein as he had a box of nutter butters stuffed in the hospital bed drawer :)and I know despite his attitude sometimes he loved my sisters and i as his own duaghters. We always think we will have a second chance to make things right or say what is on our heart, but you dont. I said goodbye before i moved but i did not honestly believe it would be goodbye and it hurts to think i wont be able to see him when i return. Please pray for my mom because I know she is devastated, when you give your heart to someone they always have a piece of it, and I know no one but God can help her to heal. Ed is with God and we just need time to help pick up the pieces, he really was a good man with a soft heart, just a slightly thicker skin that not a lot of people had the opportunity to get through and i am blessed to say I did witness that side of him
