Yesterday on a walk with some lovely local women, we saw a bald eagle swoop near the stream and land on a high branch not 100 feet away from us! I have never seen a bald eagle in this town before! He preened his feathers and looked rather unconcerned that we were nearby and teens were x-country skiing on the trails. Its always a treat to be able to get a glimpse of the wildlife surrounding us in these beautiful woods, but when its an unusual sighting like this, it feels like magic!
