We have had a lot of questions today about what all of our animals are vaccinated for and if any of them can get illnesses from fair animals. All of our animals are current on distemper, parvo, bordetella, and if 4 months of age, rabies vaccines. The dogs are all kept in their kennels at the fair with the exception of bathroom breaks directly behind our tent. The fair is pretty strict that no unhealthy farm or domestic animals are brought to the fair. This minimizes illnesses transmitted between animals and animals as well as animals and humans. Our puppy is better off getting fresh air at the fair and socialized than being in a kennel full of stray shelter dogs whose health has not yet been evaluated. For more information on diseases that can be transmitted between animals please speak to your licensed veterinarian. A lot of information found on the internet is false and your veterinarian would be able to provide more accurate information.
