Yesterday our club had an End-Of-The-Summer Beardie bounce in a lovely park in Oak Park, CA. We did something right because I counted 29 people and 25 dogs. We wanted to try to do something, other than our specialty in the summer. We had perfect weather, around 80. The park has a dog park, but also the rest of the park is an expanse of grass and rolling hills. We offered CGC and CGCA testing, done by myself. And a grooming demonstration by Meaghan Edwards, groomer to the starsSmile, well, to beardie stars. Out of 7 CGC tests, 6 passed, and the one CGCA test did not pass. We also had some beardie baskets filled with good stuff up for auction. Our club offered drinks and snacks and people brought Portos bakery goods and cupcakes to share! It was such a good turn out and every time we turned around, someone else was RSVP’g that they were coming. I think a beautiful day to hang out with friends was in order and that we did! Lots of pups and oldsters too! And even some members who never come to any event in years showed up! We also had a surprise visitor from Venezuala, who now lives in the area, with her beardie! Special thanks to Louise Rishoff, board member, for putting this together. And thank you to our board for chipping in with my CGC testing when I needed an extra hand! I think this just might have to be an annual event/bounce!
