Yesterday our season started, and I went to an intermediate-class - TopicsExpress

Yesterday our season started, and I went to an intermediate-class to sit in and watch two guest teachers from abroad teach, and to get inspiration. Because of a misunderstanding the teachers was not gonna have this class after all, and as the only teacher there I had to improvise this class - alone. I jumped into it, and made some different exercises from our TT. ( I asked 3 couples to imitate one couples swing out, and switch, so everyone tried to imitate and be imitated. Then they gave each other feedback between two couples on swingouts and afterwards on a homemade move. Afterwards they all had to show the homemade move to the rest of the class, which was really fun - for everyone. I also made them do the musicality practice with 4 x8 in closed, 4x8 in open, 4x8 with jazz moves and 4 x8 with kicks. ) Since i am not the Dj-type I dont have a lot of music on my phone. The same day Id downloaded uptown swing jazz-album, so i had the music systematized in bpm, which was really helpful in the class. From now on I will expand my albums into bpm, genres, etc. And the best thing was, that the students came to me afterwards and said that they felt great and had a lot of fun AND that they felt like they learned something. So what i want to say is, THANK YOU ALL for an awesome TT-week with great inspiration and to teach me great tools to survive an improvised Intermediate class like this, alone. I feel that I conquered the world for 1 hour and 15 min. And I could never have done this without our great TT-class - seriously.
