Yesterday temperatures started off ice cold and ended on the mild - TopicsExpress

Yesterday temperatures started off ice cold and ended on the mild side, today on the other hand we are looking at the exact opposite. Highs will peak early in the afternoon in a range of 20s in those Western basins, to the 30s in cities such as Casper and Douglas on up to those 40s for a high in Cheyenne. A cold front will push into the state late into the day resulting in rapidly declining temperatures and light snowfall potential into the afternoon and evening. Accumulation could stack up to 1-3 inches in Sheridan, Buffalo on over to the Wyoming Black Hills while expected to remain minimal in Central and Southern regions. Tonight: Lows tonight will fall below zero in Sheridan, Gillette, Newcastle and Sundance and into the single digits for many other areas East of the Divide. Here in Casper snow will be possible into the early evening before drying into the early morning while Southeastern Wyoming holds onto snowfall potential into tomorrow morning. Friday: A cold start to the weekend with highs primarily peaking in the teens and twenties under clearing and drying skies. Afternoon conditions should clear out enough for a favorable travel forecast to start the weekend. Looking Ahead: Saturday and Sunday are expected to come along with a boost in temperatures back to the 30s and even 40s under dry skies. Temperatures next week should be seen hanging close to seasonal averages in the 30s. John Shrable
