My grandparents are Holocaust survivors and many of the international documents to which we are signatory are borne of the post-Holocaust reaction. It is sad and tragic to see Australia wilfully and recklessly trampling over these very documents and these values only decades later. We MUST uphold our international human rights obligations, namely to those who are seeking our help and refuge.
