Yesterday the world lost a great man... someone whom i learned how to be a man from... who taught me patience, love, loyalty, tolerance, and how to think for myself... to question what i saw and ask why?. a wonderful husband, loyal friend, and truly exemplary father. My Father, Dencil Joe Ticer, after many months fighting infection, and a failing heart, finally relaxed and conceded the battle. he taught me many things in life... most importantly, how to love... how to treat those you love... and how to see the beauty all around you in life. through him, i learned what i meant to be a man... how to be a good partner... how to be a good husband... and how to be a good friend. i learned that no matter what is going on, or what trials you may be going through... there is ALWAYS beauty around you in life. always something to smile about. he taught me what friendship means... what family means... and what it means to be a good person. although he never took the oaths, i have never in my life known anyone who embodied the ideals of masonry more than he did. anyone. i will miss him more than words can convey... and there will always be a hole in my heart that he once filled. I love you Dad, and will miss you so long as i live... and i will always remember and do my best to embody those lessons you taught me... always be honest in all your interactions... always look someone in the eye when speaking with them... always stand up for family... always do the right thing, no matter what repercussions may come... and always protect those who cant protect themselves. I am blessed that i could be there to see him through the final gateway to the summerlands... and i will always miss him, I love you Dad Ticer... Rest in Peace.
