Yesterday was a sad day - We had to finally say goodbye to Jake who we love so much. Jake was a forever foster through Satchels Last Resort Animal Shelter/Sanctuary who we brought home in August of 2012 at the ripe old age of 14. We never thought we would get over two years with him but we did and we cherish those years. I am crying as I am writing this as I miss my boyfriend so much. I write boyfriend because my human boyfriend, Rafal Baranski, actually called Jake my other boyfriend. Needless to say we were very close. The last few months Jake could barely walk any more but was still happy. The dementia he also suffered from got to be too much for him at the end though, and yesterday it was time. If Jake loved anything more than he loved me, it was food. So before we brought him to the vet, he had both McDonalds and Chick-Fil-A. Jake was a gentle soul and will be missed not only by us, our friends but by his wonderful grandmother, Darlene, as well. She is the mother of his owner, Craig, who passed away in July 2012. She has come every weekend to see Jake and take him and the rest of our dogs for a car ride. She has become everyones grandma and we hope she will continue to visit as we dont want her to disappear from our lives as well. Jake, we all love you and miss you!
