Yesterday was a very soulful loss to our music world. One of the many beautiful things about this career that Ive been blessed with is that so many times Ive had the opportunity to meet...sit and talk with...and many times become friends with so many people who were influential in the early stages of my development as an artist. Bobby Womack was one of those people. His music, his passion, his soulful delivery of every piece of music hes been attached to, definitely made an impression on me and subconsciously how I approach a song. I was blessed to know Bobby and call him a friend. He and I ran into each other at an airport about 7 or 8 months ago...he was just returning to the states from a series of shows he had done abroad. It was obvious, even at that time he wasnt in the best of health. But when he talked about performing in front of his fans overseas as well as here in the states, I could see the excitement in his eyes and how much he still loved giving his all to his fans. From what I understand Bobby passed peacefully in his sleep. Isnt that how all of us would like to go? You will be Soulfully missed Bobby!! My thoughts and prayers are with the family and may God comfort you in this time. God bless Howard
