Yesterday was the big Valley Gives fund raising event here in Western Massachusetts. It was a one day event for lots of different organizations, one of them being the fund to help build a new library for my small town. I just got a follow up email from the library director. She wrote: Our Valley Gives campaign was a tremendous success. 81 donors contributed $5,929.62 online yesterday. We exceeded the $2,500 challenge and will receive that gift. Eleven donors were awarded $25 new donor bonus gifts – a total of $275 for our fund. And five donors donated cash or checks at the library totaling $730. The grand total contributed to the Friends of the M.N. Spear Memorial Library New Library Fund, in one day, $9,434.62. Words cannot express how grateful I am to every donor and volunteer who contributed to this inspiring out-pouring of support for a future new library for our Town. Thank you. Wow. Thats real money. I dont know if anyone here contributed, but if so, thank you so much!
