Yesterday we had the memorial service for my best friend Jackie - TopicsExpress

Yesterday we had the memorial service for my best friend Jackie Pyka who passed in July. I spoke at the service about how Jackie got me to believe in my art and continue it ... and also how Jackie always said that if you see something beautiful (art, clothing, jewelry, etc), buy it if you can, or else we wont continue to have beautiful things in our world .. they will go away because people will stop making them. Jackie always believed in abundance, and always had it. Spencer was also able to get up and tell how when he wanted Jackie to continue chemo treatment that wasnt working and she wanted to stop and pass on, she hugged him and told him that it isnt about how long you live, but how well you live when you are alive. Jackie filled every day with as much joy and life as she could possibly fit in, always took responsibility for her own happiness rather than expecting the world to give it to her and still laughed heartily up until the time she could no longer speak. While I miss her dearly, I feel her presence with me all the time now. I think about things I know she would find funny, or want to do, and find a lot of comfort knowing she is now my spirit guide. I am sad only that she is not here physically. I do not think something bad happened to her. I view it as her passing on to a higher level and am happy for her. She lived her life every day true to the belief in a higher power which we connect with and bring into our world. What Im glad I did was tell her how I felt about her, how much I loved her and what she meant to me before she passed. I would ask that anyone reading this do the same. There are people in your life who may be gone tomorrow, or you may be gone tomorrow. It is so important to tell them the things in your heart that need to be said, and to do it now, before you run out of time. Pick up the phone right now and dont wait. Theyll understand.
