Yesterday, we received the following note from Walks N Wags Pet First Aid participant Rebecca Smallman, Owner of Kit & LePoodle Pet Services in St. Thomas, ON: I wanted to let you know again what great training this is! Last night, one of my clients dogs (who was recently diagnosed with a heart condition and may die suddenly) was acting a bit off. I knew to check her heart rate (which was through the roof) and gums (pale). She was able to get to the emergency clinic quickly enough that they were able to help her, and she stabilized within a few hours. While we never want to hear that a pet is unwell, we always appreciate hearing that our participants are empowered to assist an animal in need. Way to go Rebecca!!!
