Yesterday we welcomed very senior leaders from the Congress of the People, Agang SA and the United and the United Democratic Movement who have just joined our movement. These are not just ordinary members but very seasoned politicians who have occupied very strategic positions both nationally and provincially. Cde. Lucky Gabela was the provincial chairperson of Cope and represented the party in the KwaZulu-Natal legislature since the 2009 general elections. He had been a cadre of our movement before he joined Cope and we are excited to see him return. We are also welcoming Shiraz Omar who was a member of Cope’s highest structure, the national council and Vumani Shandu who was a member of the provincial leadership group which is also the highest structure in the province. Cde. Chris Msibi who was Cope’s election coordinator in 2009 and Collins Mainstry who was COPE’s Provincial Executive Committee member also joined us. The movement also welcomed Cde Ian Radebe from the United Democratic Movement (UDM) who was a Provincial Executive Committee member and the party’s Media and Marketing Officer, Cde Ethienne De Jager who was Agang SA Provincial Executive Committee member and Organiser and Cde Bulelo Sigabi who was the Deputy Chairperson of Agang SA.
